The Point of Pines Yacht Club Officers and Membership wish to express their condolences to the family of Debbie Murphy on the loss of Debbie’s Sister Geraldine Pisapia.

Geraldine A. (Correnti) Pisapia, fondly known as “Gerry” to her family and friends, of Wilmington, died unexpectedly on December 18, 2013, at the age of 69.

Gerry was born on September 2, 1944, in Somerville, MA, she was the cherished daughter of the late Frank and Vera (DiMuzio) Correnti.  Gerry was raised and educated in Malden and was a graduate of Malden High School.

Gerry married the “love of her life” Louis Pisapia, on March 25, 1968; the couple shared nearly thirty wonderful years together and raised two beautiful children before his untimely passing in 1997.

Gerry and Louie lived in Wilmington for many years before moving to Stuart, Florida, where Gerry resided for 20 years.  Gerry was very outgoing and friendly, she made countless life-long friendships in Massachusetts as well as Florida, and they always had a great time together.  Gerry always made her way “home” to Massachusetts over the years and moved permanently back several years ago to be closer to her family.

Gerry made her family her number one priority; she was a very devoted and loving wife, mother, grammy, daughter, sister, and auntie.  Gerry cherished every moment spent with her family, she enjoyed family holidays and celebrations, going shopping and out to lunch with her daughter and sister, or just “hanging out” with family on the couch watching a great Lifetime movie, no matter what they were doing Gerry had fun.

When Gerry took on the role as “Grammy”, her life was even more enriched; she adored her grandchildren Jaclyn, Justin, and David, they were the light of her life.  Gerry especially relished the time spent with Jaclyn, they shared a special bond, she was just a princess in Gerry’s eyes.

In her spare time, Gerry loved to play cards and go to bingo, she was always very competitive and feisty.  Gerry enjoyed going to dinner with her girlfriends and traveling all over with her friend Gus who was a very special person in her life.

Gerry will be fondly remembered as kind, caring, and most of all very loyal to her family and friends.  Gerry would go out of her way to help anyone and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Gerry was the beloved wife of the late Louis Pisapia, devoted mother of Gina Fraser and her husband Greg and Louis Pisapia all of Wilmington, loving “Grammy” of Jaclyn, Justin, and David Fraser, dear sister of Debra Murphy and her husband Paul of Malden, special “Auntie” of Keleigh, Kristine, and Paul Murphy.  Gerry is also survived by many dear friends.
