The POPYC is participating in Revere’s Columbus Day Parade on October 14 to advertise the club’s 100th anniversary. If you would like to walk in the parade,  or if your child or grandchild would like to ride on the club’s Boat Float, please contact Eileen Horgan (eah106@aol.com or 617-240-3817). The parade starts at 1:00pm.

Notice for Member Participants

The parade route runs from south Broadway turning down Revere St. ending at St Anthony’s Church. Participants have to arrive at the start location (south end of Broadway, parkway end) at 11:30AM.

Some members are meeting at the Yacht club, the morning of the Parade at 10:30 AM. We will be leaving the club no later than 11:00 AM to drop a few cars in the Paul Revere School parking lot, so we will have transportation back. Then we will continue onto the start location for 11:30 AM. I am not sure of how much parking there is at the start of the parade. So if you cannot make it to club for 10:30 AM, But you can get dropped off at the start location, we will shuttle people back to the club after the parade.

If you are walking and have not contacted Eileen or Charlie please do so ASAP.
If your child or grandchild is riding in the Float, a parent or grandparent needs to walk in the parade to accompany the child or children.

We are also looking for three volunteers to dress in character costumes for the Parade. We have Popeye, Olive Oyl and a Brutus (Bluto) costume. Please call Eileen if you are interested.

Let’s have a Great day in Honor of The 100th Anniversary of the Point of Pines Yacht Club
